The two of you hit the Atlantic as hard as you can without damaging your machines. After that, the modified maneuvering jets allow you a form of locomotion that's halfway between swimming and flying, complete with all the disorientation of zero G.
The ships in orbit guide you to a fissure in the ocean floor just south of Cuba.
"This is where we lost it," a woman's voice buzzes over the comm "Our orbit took us out of range and our sister ship never caught sight of it. Good luck."
The inky darkness of the trench looms before you like the mouth of some unthinkably large animal. If once you wondered how a 400 ton monster could go undetected...

Nightwolf (To Beamer): "Hey, do you think the fishy is realated to Nessy or a sea dinosaure or perhapes both, do you?
This is takes a little getting used to. Do we have any kind of lights on these contraptions? I'd like to be able to see where I am going."
OOC: Just out of curiosity, Beamer, do you know that you've been bunnying alot lately in like the last few posts you've posted? Do you know what bunnying is? Perhapes, Galadare should change your title from Space Monkey to Master Bunny.

Nightwolf: As you ask about the suit lights, they flare up and your "vision" shifts to a false-color composite of light amplification, infrared, and passive sonar. In addition, a semitransparent icon appears in your peripheral vision asking for permission to "Engage Active Sonar".

(ooc: Yeah I am aware, I tend to do it when stories go slow. On other games I have done online it has been allowed so long as it does not take the story arch off course. If we ever have done something terribly wrong, or harmed known NPC's we were smacked hard. Though most of the time it is about writing the story. I am sure Galadare would smite me good... I am only at -9 after all ) Beamer just looks into the huge void. "It probably could. Ready to see what it down there?" Beamer hovers above the large aquatic canyon. "We can fire low powered blasts into this hole as we go up and down. It will eventually get upset enough to move. I would certainly hope we could notice it coming up. Besides if we stun it a little that could give us the advantage!" Beamer uses his shield arm to fire the stun cannon, and his saber is ready to expand if any threat surfaces. "Didn't your visual sensors kick in on their own?" Beamer sounds concerned. "As well be sure to keep talking to me. I don't want to finish this and find that either of us need to dive further down this crevice."

The darkness of the fissure lights up as Beamer's shot impacts on the canyon floor. In the light of the electrical discharge, you can see something huge and black glides toward you from the murky depths. A dozen enormous tentacles lash out with blinding speed in an attempt to snatch the creature's next meal.

Nightwolf grins happily as the lights and sonar activate.
Nightwolf (To Beamer): "I doubt any of us will be coming back up from that fissure if we went down."
Nightwolf will do her best to dodge any of the tentacles that come her way. She will also shoot at any that come too close.
Nightwolf: "Beamer, Do you think we could blind this things? It does seem to live deep on the ocean floor. Do you think it even has any eyes?"
OOC: Sorry it took me so long to post. I've been busy with Thanksgiving, Institute, housework, and I got really involved in my game as the Knights of the Nine mini expansion for Oblivion just came out recently. My sister and I had preordered it together. It's awesome. It's really nice to have a faction quest design specifically for the good guys. That was kind of lacking before. There was the mages and fighters guilds with weren't really either evil or good. Then there was the thieves and the assassin factions. It seemed like there wasn't much of a real faction for the good guys. I guess they must have all been free lance adventures or something. Now they're getting organized. It's really cool. I'm really psyched.

(ooc: I am assuming this is a huge Jellyfish ) Beamer replies to Nightwolf, "I am busy dodging these tentacles, I will look for eyes on this thing when I am sure I won't be crushed by it's appendages." Beamer switches his suit to a full assult mode, many projectile weapons seem to come out of Bitty's shoulders, all around the waist, and her left arm seems to be a large Ion Cannon. His blue beam saber glows brightly as he places all of his firepower toward the front of Bitty. The Cannon attacking this creature directly. The rest are attacking the canyon walls just above the creature in hopes that the large boulders will cause an avalanche of sorts and bury this thing... or at least slow it down as Beamer gets out to safety. *Beamer would love to back away, but this beast is likely moving faster (that is how you make it sound Nate) than he can reposition. **If he can get out he will and wait for the guppy to come up (he will be at what he considers a safe distance). **If he cannot get out he will wait for it to latch onto him and start hacking away as every blaster on his suit begins to fire all around him.

OOC: You're only assuming that because I TOLD you it was a jellyfish. For the record, It's only PARTLY jellyfish... /OOC
The first wave of tentacles withdraws from your counter-assault, and a cloud of thick black ink jets toward you. The ink must also have some kind of organic chaff suspended in it because you lose everything: visiual, sonar, thermal; even your comms get nothing but static.

(OOC: Agreed and touche! I had wondered if the tentacles could move fast enough to catch me, jelly fished don't seem to move that fast ) Beamer has flown solo missions before. He usese the movement of the water surrounding his as a type of archaic sonar. He as well believes that this is a reactive defensive response to preadators. He fires into the same area with low powered stun blasts (primarily to prevent hurting this scared animal further, as well I am not sure how this organic goo will much with my weapon systems.) Beamer fires up his saber with full power to burn through the blackness and attempts to back directly out in a straight line. He as well hopes that Nightwolf will be able to see the saber at some point. (Headed behind him would be the surface of the ocean eventually as was directly over the fissure facing it before he was covered in clouds )

Nightwolf: "Ew! Where is greek fire when you need it?"
Nightwolf will try to dodge the icky substance as best she can. She will also check to see if her mech has radar and if that is working.
