Nightwolf and Beamer both break free of the ink cloud, which appears on both radar and sonar as a single, noisy object. No trace of the beast itself can be seen. Despite your best efforts, your optical sensors seem to be caked in ink, leaving your visuals patchy at best. Beamer's torch shows up on Nightwolf's thermals like a beacon. Unfortunately, she isn't the only one that sees it.
A hail of small objects jet toward Bitty in a loose pattern. Most fly past harmlessly, but one smashes through the mech's left knee and two more smash themselves on it's heart-shaped shield; all three releasing some sort of oil-based corrosive.
Beamer feels his machine's knee convulse twice before seizing up.

"Nightwolf, I certainly hope you can hear me." Jonathan remains calm. "Remeber we have a sushi date and it has been a few weeks since I have been in the presence of a great woman. I expect you to show this world why they should sing your praises. Do not fire until you see the large beast. I will take care of these small creatures. Unless I need to run on land Bitty will be just fine without her legs. Did you happen to see what hit me. I did not feel mineral when it hit."
Beamer does not seem worried at all, "I plead my cause, pop, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. Take hold of a shield, and stand up for mine help. Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation. Let their way be dark and slippery: and let your angels persecute them. For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul. Let destruction come upon him unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall." He laughs with a bizarre confidence. "In other words dad, help me take this sea biscuit down!"
Since there was no problem firing low powered blasts at the creature, he cranks it up to a little over Bitty's normal heat limits.
"Nightwolf, I hope you can hear me... or at least will be able to dodge this hailstorm." Beamer waits for the projectiles to lessen, disengages his energy field for the shield (to allow the things on it to do what they will and not be stuck so close to him), and blasts every ounce of fire power he can muster in every direction. He as well begins to spin quickly in the water to remove the ink from his sensors, and to give a more random spread of fire in all directions.
(This will likely cause the walls of that chasm to be blasted even more and hopefully bring the creature out of hiding.)
"I want you to know pop, the only reason I fired at her is because she fired first."

Nightwolf (If she can hear Beamer over the radio at all): "Not sure what hit you. Might have been little fish or it more likely is projectiles from the overly large fish. I don’t know. I doubt any other marine life is going to live very close to a thing of that size. I think this thing might be heat seeking and saw the thermals of your torch."
Nightwolf will pay attention to anything she has working including the sonar. She will also give Beamer plenty of room, and will attempt to dodge anything coming her way.
Nightwolf (Mostly to herself, but also partially to Beamer): "Does this thing have anything sharp and pointy on it. I have may need to slice at Leviathan if it comes at me with the tentacles again. How can anyone fight without something sharp with them just in case? I don’t get it. Don’t get me wrong, I like my guns too… "
(To Fishy): "You’d better not be fatty with all the trouble it’s going to take to take you down."
Nightwolf keeps a carefull eye on her visuall just in case she chances a glimps of the beast and can open fire on it.

Any radio signals you try to send to each other are drowned out by all the static transmitted by that strange ink. Nightwolf's thermals do detect Beamer's attack pattern, particularly those shots that come unnervingly close to her.
Most of the blasts are wide, but Nightwolf sees several that impact on something impossibly large as it swims past her.
Beamer finishes his attack and manages to clear his visuals just in time to see an enormous, squid-like monstrosity emerge from the cloud of ink. The creature is brightly colored, like a tropical fish. More to the point it has a massive beak that is clearly capable of opening Bitty like a can of spam. The beak is surrounded by a mane of tentacles that appear to be some sort of jellyfish/mollusk cross.
The creature rushes Beamer with breakneck speed.

I time the expansion of my shield to open when this beak is almost on me (aka to keep it pryed open with an over powered shield). I am well allow Bitty to go completely limp (to simulate death and prevent being ripped apart). All eletrical systems are shut down except the weapons which I will do the same thing as before only in all directions once the beast is on top of me. "This was the plan from the start pop... Though Davy will not have me as a mate today."
He will not spin unless he can do so without destroying Bitty. His beam saber will be used to cut the can opener, or beak, off and futher slice away tentacles once he has the ablilty to move the mecha without destroying it.
"Night wolf, I sure hope you can hear me. Be sure to keep going, destroy this beast and know that you are a true friend... Oh and BLAST IT BACK TO THE DEEP!"

Nightwolf scowls in Beamer's general direction.
Nightwolf (To herself): "More and more static. I can't tell what you're trying to say, but I have the feeling it's sappy! Those last few shots were awfully close!"
Nightwolf checks to confirm that even if she was somehow able to use her weaponry to heat the ocean around the fish it'd heat the ocean around her too and she'd be cooking Beamer and herself along with the fish. So, soup would be a bad idea.
She backs out of the way of the fish and Beamer, rethinking her planned tatics and again looking to see the robot didn't have something sharp she could use like a dagger or something.
She watches what Beamer is doing with any scanners and systems that still work. She takes careful notes of how everything he tries seems to be doing. Maybe it will help her come up with something else that might actually work.
The more she sees of the fish the more she gets hungry. She hopes it's safe to eat once they kill it. They'll have to have someone analyze the fish before the fish before they eat it to make sure it's safe and that their won't be any ill effect from eating it, besides the other obvious reasons they'd need to have it analyzed.
For now she'll let Beamer keep it's attention until she can utilize the destruction he's causing to do some real damage of her own.

Beamer: The beast bites down on your shield. The creature's jaws are unbelievably strong. An alarm goes off as your shield threatens to fail. It's holding for now, though the emitter is clearly not up to the challenge. To make matters worse, your saber doesn't seem to be doing much to the beak.
Suddenly, yours shield fails and the jaws close with a snap...almost. Your saber slips at the last second and the beast spews you out of it's mouth and withdraws.
As you jet away from the creature you watch its skin change colors from blues and greens to an intense pattern of red, orange and black.
It looks mad.
Nightwolf: You vision begins to clear, the multi-band interference dies down and the ink dissipates. You see the enormous blue bulk before you and watch Beamer disappear in the mass of tentacles. Half a second later, he rockets away from the beast, whose skin changes to an intense collection of reds and orange. Further, the beast backs away from both of you.

Nightwolf tries the comms again.
Nightwolf: "I get the insides are not so protected as the outside. Do you think we could try firing a volly into the beast when it comes back at you again. I think you made it mad."

Beamer is very pleased that his father was watching over him. (Could that squid swallow bitty whole?) "My saber wouldn't cut through it's beak. I am not sure this thing is a living creature."
Beamer is very glad he did not offer to show Nightwolf how to use beam weaponry. That was almost too close for him.
"Blasting it's apendages, I would think, is the best idea. After it looses its arms it will need to back away and we can begin persuit."
