Nightwolf (Silently to Beamer): "You'll understand once you see what's one the data recording device. Let's just hurry and find something that will do that for us.
Otherwise, I think I might have. You're beast has to be just one of many if I understand the recording right. They might have been doing what they've been doing to the animals first before they ever did anything to people.
Who knows how many other beasts like this they might have or what the beast used to be. Maybe little furry creature, but not any more. If they had it before they had this 'fever', the why bring it out now?"

The PDA Tanaka gave Beamer with the documents he requested has the capability of playing holo-recordings. The possibility exists that it is bugged, but it is the obvious culprit, and one would hope that intel. is smarter than that. Besides, there are easier ways...
You are also able to find a secluded closet near a server center with enough shielding and electrical interference to make them work for their pay. It's doubtful you could find a better place without leaving the base altogether.
Beamer: When you play back the recording, a holographic image of your father appears in 1/10th scale: "Hello, Jonny-boy. If yer seein' this, then I'm either dead or ye've heard about me legend'ry Sauce," the ghostly image chuckles, "I've got somethin' ter tell ye, boy. The Earth be in trouble. There be these goons who want to mutate all the birdies and furries and fishies and make 'em inter monsters and such like. Think their gettin' revenge on behalf o' the Earth. Balderdash, says I. Me buddies Tower and Brown have all the details, go ter see 'em if'n ye haven't already." The image shakes his pipe at you, "But don'tcha be trusting the rest of me crew. Mutinous dogs be workin' fer 'Them'."
He pauses briefly as if collecting his thoughts. With a hint of a tear in his eye he continues, "The Earth be a lady boy. Fairest of all 'cept'n yer mother (giv'er a kiss fer me, aye). Now shove off! An' don't ferget the Code."

On the way to the server he grabs a few HHO components and a five gallon bucket of water, "I may need to remove some hair." He says if Nightwolf asks why he has electrolysis components.
Beamer listens and watches the hologram silently, he then replays it and remains silent. It almost seems that a tear is forming in his own eye.

Nightwolf gives Beamer a respectful moment of silence before she says anything.
Nightwolf to Beamer: "At least you got to know your parents. At least one of them is still alive for you to worry about. You wanted to know something about me. I was taken from my parents at an early age. My life hasn't been good since."
"I know this is a lot for you to take in, but we also don't have much time. Both Tower and Brown are dead. Brown was a traitor. I have something else you might be interested in seeing."
Nightwolf then shows Beamer what she found and kept of the package that Tower had sent her to give to Brown before he'd tried to kill her. Nightwolf tells Beamer how it came into her hands and how Brown died. She tells him how she found Tower murdered shortly afterwards which was not to long after she had left for Brown's. At the time she had left Tower was still living. He'd been killed in the short time she'd been away.
Nightwolf want to make sure Beamer knows just how serious this is. More poeple have died and likely more will die over all of this.
Nightwolf: "At least we know who some of 'Them' are, your father's old crew. Too bad we couldn't pump them for information. We also know that we can't trust anyone else. The only two your father's mentions that could be trusted are dead. One of which I sure was a tratior."

Beamer mumbles, "I hope we can trust Dead Eye." He looks at where the hologram was. "So I am sure there was some important information that Tower was going to give me. Lesson learned captain. I will fix your mistakes and keep this planet safe. She is a fine woman, but she is yours. I will keep her safe for you."
He simply stands with a blank look on his face and a single tear rolls down his left cheek.
His portable messaging device blips. Beamer opens it up and Dead Eye cries out through the line, "Littl' Jon, yer pap is gone with uncle Davey! I know it. Don't be trustin' that dirty bastard Brown neither! I just got this feed:
"Over the past twenty-four hours, there have been numberless reports worldwide of attacks by what people have begun to call 'Zombies'. ~~~ports describe the assailants as being feral, humanlike creatures who are beyond reason. It was full of static, but Dead Eye continued. "Jon! Ya must be gettin' to dat cellar of yer pap's! Git ta Tower, he is still trusty!" He sounds rushed. "Oh and don't be bringin' Betty back here no time soon. It ain't safe. Tell yer ma that Tigger is losin' his bouncin', but the poo' is still in that old bear's fluff. Oh and tell her that I would be more than honored to protect her in these times since Petie Panther is gone away. She always did have a decent smile." He looks over his shoulder and says again, "I gotta go boy, be true."
Beamer mumbles softly and looks at Nightwolf. "Lets go hunting."

Nightwolf stops Beamer with a hand on his chest.
Nightwolf: "Tower is dead, and I've been to your celler. That's where I found the data device with the message to you from your father. Almost swollowed it too. It was hiden inside one the jars of your father's picante sauce. I brought a few with me partially for food and also just in case more of them had stuff hidden in them. See, I ran out of rations before I got to your place. I found the picante sauce in the celler and decided it was close enough to food and started downing a bottle straight. That's when I started almost choking on the data device."
"I have some other things you need to see."
Nightwolf then shows Beamer what was in the package that Tower had given me to deliver.
Nightwolf: "I was supposed to deliver this to Brown for Tower. Things got complicated and it didn't turn out that way. So, I'm going to deliver this to you."
In side the package Nightwolf reveals to Beamer the solid-state data storage devices that make up most of the contence, the 2-D surveillance photographs, and the strange large-scale aerosol canisters.
Nightwolf: "I haven't really looked at these data devices yet. So, I don't really know what's on them. I did flip through the photos. I don't know who all those people are. I could only recognize Brown and his receptionist. I don't know what are inside these canisters either. We should take a look at the data devices at least before you decide to go hunting. It could be very important. Hey, if we're lucky maybe it'll tell us how to defeat the beast or undo what was done to it."
"Do you think those canisters might contain whatever transformed those people into monsters? Best be careful with them just in case."
"Maybe Tower had gotten suspicious of Brown and had those surveillance photos taken. In any case. I caught Brown with a poorly concealed dead body when I came to deliver this package. That's when he tried to kill me. Ended up having to use an explosive. His last words were 'For a free Earth'. I barely made it out before the explosive went off. I think it's pretty safe that Brown's quite dead. With that explosion I don't know if there would be anything left to bury. I doubt he could have survived. I almost didn't."
"Oh, and when I returned to Tower’s place it had been ransacked and Tower was dead on the floor. His head had been smashed in. That all happened in the short time I went to Brown’s place to deliver the package and the events that happened there. I also found a bomb counting down underneath Tower’s desk. I don’t know how to defuse explosives so I left it well alone. So there isn’t much left of Tower either."
"I took a medical kit and some food from Tower’s place before I left town. I went right to where you said your ranch was. That’s when I found it burned down except for the cellar, which is again where I found your father’s hidden stash of picante sauce and the message he left for you hidden in the bottle I almost choked down when I was downing the sauce for food. It’s too bad he didn’t stash some water down there. Drinking a bottle of picante sauce makes one awful thirsty."
"I hope I haven't forgotten anything. I think that was everything..."

Beamer: As you flip through the 2D's Nightwolf hands you; you fail to see anyone who resembles the Brown you met. More importantly the data devices contain more 2D's and a few holos, as well as transcripts of communiques, schematic diagrams, research notes, and invoices. Whoever Tower's agents were, they were thorough. There's enough to keep a whole team of analysts busy for weeks, but what you can skim through gives you a pretty clear view of the big picture:
There's a collection of nuts out their who want to free the Earth from her "Human Oppressors".

"Night wolf, you met both Tower and Brown? I don't see him anywhere in these photos. Brown may well be alive and the man you thought was Brown was attempting to kill him off with that explosive device."
He studies the pictures and then pulls out his personal data communicator, enters in some information and starts talking. "Leiutenant Jackson, how are things at home."
"CAPTAIN ANDREWS! What is happening out there?" The officer was clearly worried and crazed.
"There is no problem, just a little misunderstanding sailor. I need you to find Bitty for me. If she is still on Mars, I will need you to tweak the security protocols and allow her entrance to Earth's defense system."
"Captain. I have been watching the news feeds as well I have been looking into some other military data. There is a 400 ton sea monster attacking Cousteau City!"
"So the puppy is a guppy?" Beamer almost seemed amused, "So where is this city?"
"I have sent the coordinates to Bitty. It seems that she was dropped in the middle of the Mohave."
"Sailor, as much as I enjoy the credit as you give me, I don't know earth's geography much at all. Remeber I am just a brat from Skadi."
"I will have the mech come to you Beam. Be careful, there are things happening here too. Lieutenant Schwavitz has not been seen for over 86 horus."
"I am sure she is well sailor. I know the millitary can be a hard life, but we are the best. We need to keep our heads when eveyone else loses theirs. You can find a solution to any problem out there. I am not going to be able to help resolve any politics until I get back. Tell the Admiral I love him, give him a kiss too." Beamer winks at the device. "Oh I hear Bitty, I need to go." He ends the transmission and looks at Nightwolf. "Ever piloted before?" He turns away and starts walking, "I am sure I have an hour to teach you the basics before Bitty shows up." He doesn't even look at her as he walks away from the base. Another tear wells up in his eyes.

Nightwolf: "That might be, but there was a body that this 'Brown' I met was trying to conceal rather poorly. There was blood everywhere. I really didn't get a good look at the body. So, I don't know whose it was."
"Perhaps he intended his explosive for the real Brown, but he wasted in on me instead. If that was the case."
Nightwolf waits until Beamer is done with his communication and begins to follow him as he heads off.
Nightwolf: "Depends. What is it that I might be piloting? Usually I do the firing and getting fired upon. I prefer close combat without machines if at all possible. I like to see the eyes of whatever and whoever I'm fighting."
"As for all that information I just handed you. Perhaps you know of someone trustworthy that could look at it more in-depth, maybe find out something we can use to fight this plague or reverse it or at least give us an edge on defeating it."
Nightwolf will politely not comment on any tears welling in his eyes that she might notice. He just learned that he's lost a lot. He has every reason and right to be sad, but there is not time for it now. Nightwolf is aware that he knows it. She can and will respect that. Perhaps later, Nightwolf thought to herself, he’ll have time and the opportunity to grieve properly. Until then she leaves it alone as if it wasn't there at all. She hoped that one day she might be able to have a chance to do her own grieving for all the hurt and tragedy in her own life. Right now she just had to keep moving forward, just like always.

"I assume the eyes you will be looking at are going to be three times your height Nighwolf. 400 tons is a large beast, land or sea." He winks, "Besides I don't see gills on you, so I assume that you need some way to breathe while we are under the oceans surface. I can obtain a mecha with either fire power or close combat weapons. I prefer my babies. They keep enemies at bay well enough, but I always see my opponent when I duel." He smile as if in deep thought, "It is a good thing. So I could give you the basics of Mecha piloting, you can attempt to scrunch in my mech, or stay up here. I need to go take care of this problem and would appreciate the help."
Andrew's turns back to Nightwolf. "I really need somone I can trust. I have only met one person on this Adam forsaken planet that seems trustworthy in my opinion." He extends his hand, "Ready for a fight that is most likely going to end our very lives, but if when we live through it we will be heros for at least seven and a half minutes?" He smiles charasmatically, but he is sincere.
