...nobody's really posting, and I feel like sharing.
Winter Wolf by Lironah
A touch of ice in the air A breeze, the scent of pine needles And deep forest as it wakes from slumber The sun sheds its first tendrils across The snow-covered valley
I open my eyes, like golden Jewels upon grey velvet A flash of movement As the starling lights above me The first song of morning
Silver motes against a silver backdrop The sun plays with falling crystals Of snow The air is thick with the taste Of the storm to come
I crack my jaws and taste The ice-filled air with a yawn Still the sun dances And plays between the scattered Silver-dusted pines
I drink in the cold air Invigorating My song echoes Between snow and sky A clarion note upon the morning
A flash of irridescent green The starling darts Into the sunlight A jewel against grey Mountains crowned with cloud
The sun makes dappled shadows Across the forest floor I return To the deep shelter of the pines While all the world awakes From slumber
