When Nightwolf notices that she's taking on water she instantly goes into survival mode. She isn't really paying attention to anything else right now.
Since her propulsion doesn't seem to be operating and she is slowly sinking, she decides to try something maybe ill advised. She points as many of her weapons downwards. Then fires of short bursts in hopes that she can use her weapons as a make-do substitute for her propulsion.
She checks to see what other damage her robot shell has sustained. She also checks on the rate the water is coming in on her, and tries to gage how much time she has until the mech takes on too much water.
Her goal right now is to get as close to the surface as she can. If she can get close enough, then maybe she can swim the rest of the way if she can't get the mech all the way there.
At some point she thinks she vaguely hears Beamer say something helping him to the surface.
Nightwolf: "I've got my own damage here. I'm taking on water and sinking. It may be all I can do to get close to the surface. I suggest you do the same."
When Beamer describes how to detach the legs, Nightwolf releases them. Less weight means more of a chance her impromptu propulsion can get her to the surface.
Nightwolf just hopes that this doesn’t attract the beastie, and that it doesn’t hit it either. She doesn’t want to invite it’s affections, but she also doesn’t want to drowned either.

"Remember Nightwolf, only after you reach the surface you may wake up."
Beamer is impressed that she is able to remain in the trance even taking on water. He gets as close to her mech as he can and attempts to grab onto it. He will then use his propultion system to bring them both to the surface. He searches for the location of the underground city. He knows that Nightwolf has a very real possibility of waking up, or even going into a hypothermic state. He keeps talking to her to be sure her mind stays focused on getting where they need to go.
"So tell me your favorite goal, what is the largest one you have ever had Nightwolf? I want all the details, what have you always wanted to do since you were a little child?"

Nightwolf: "The goals I have now are not the ones I had when I was little. I only have only three goals right now. The most important one I won't tell you. I still don't trust you. The second is saving my home plantet. I'm not sure why I care some much about it. I never stay in one play for long and change plantets as often as I can. The third is staying alive and free to accomplish my first two."

"Well hopefully you will get all those done in a few years, that way you can focus on your childhood dreams and take back youthful bilss. You know what is left of your little mech is heavier than I anicipated. Don't worry about trusting me. My superior officers have a hard time with it, but I always get the job done so I guess they simply despise the fact that I can do it while blinding some rules." He laughs, "Yeah I am not sure I could trust a guy that always gets the job done but disregards so many protocols that they needed to write more codes just to prevent him from doing it again... over thirteen times in one instance." He begins to laugh, but keeps looking for that underwater city on and watching the beast as he attempts to head upward to the surface.

Nightwolf (Stated Simply and with a strange poignant sadness in her voice): "All my childhood dreams where murdered. I don’t have any left. So, there are none to focus on."

Beamer attempts to lighten the mood, "Yeah, I was told at an early age that Santa Cloud was not real either. Though I almost figured it out. Come on, how could drops of water with presents fly across the verse all in one week?"
Beamer continues to scan for the city and scans for air that may be excaping from the mech. He knows they are under an extreme amount of pressure. He is afraid that it may quickly breach at which point NW would be dead. He does not know any human that could survive the pressure that she would be undeer if it ruptured more than it had.

The bad news is: Nightwolf's remaining weaponry fails to decrease the rate at which she is sinking. In fact, it is making matters even worse. Beamer's preference for energy weapons has guaranteed that Nightwolf's efforts do little more than reduce the density of the water beneath her.
The good news is: after dumping Nightwolf's legs and disabled weaponry, Bitty's remaining thrust is sufficient to get both Beamer and Nightwolf to the surface.
The better news is: the guppy seems to have had enough and is usiing the opportunity to do a little fleeing of its own.

Nightwolf: "When we come back. I want a small army. I'm sure that thing is still biological. It's just a really bad mutant. I bet some of it's dna. Was from unearthly creatures. Let's go lick our wounds, shall we.
As for Santa Claus, I always thought he had a time dilation machine and faster than light travel."

As you breach the surface, your radio buzzes to life: "What's going on down there? Hunter Andrews? Please respond."
By the way Beamer: since I forgot to mention it, your leg did blow up, even though the beastie didn't go for it.

Nightwolf responds before Beamer can.
Nightwolf: "The Liviathan got the best of us. I think it's going to take a small army to take out that mutant fish. Though Hunter Andwers seems convinced it's some robot ship since his energy sword or whatever it was didn't cut it's beack. I'm more inclinded to belive that it might just have otherworldly DNA mixed in it. What kind of ship inks or shoots of exploding skin and goo?"
"Oh, and our mechs are badily damaged too. We need some help out here."
