Beamer backs away and blasts his full power at the base of any single tentacle. If he hits many that is well enough, but his goal is to destroy at least half of them before he begins to persue the thing.
"Be sure to make every hit count Nightwolf!" He laughs, "So how is this for a first date?"

Nightwolf coordinate her attacks with Beamer aiming for the same places he does. In hopes to bluster his attack.
Nightwolf (To Beamer): "This is not a date. This is combat."

"You are offended that we made plans and are now keeping them? Should I assume that you didn't want sushi after we are done?"
He keeps his eyes open to find where the ink is coming from. If it tries to in up again, beamer want's to blast that part of the thing to prevent more interference.
"Oh if I start shooting at another location, just keep firing that those legs! Oh how do you like your calamari?"

Several of the beasts tentacles are ripped from its body under your combined fire. In responce, the beast jets to one side. Its skin bubbles form on its skin and detatch themselves, forming a dozen small pods that jet toward you, randomizing their course to evade attack.

Nightwolf (To Beamer): "That won't be a date either. I expect you to bring someone else. This thing is too big for us to eat alone. That will just be dinner."
"What the heck kind of fish does that?"
Noightwolf dodges the icky skin pods, or attempts to.
Then continues shooting that the tenticals unless the beasty start for her. Then she'll try to just get out of the way.

"The asexual kind I would assume!" Beamer says as he attempts to dodge them, he lets a few of his blasters spread fire at the little bulbs. "Don't let them hit you, they already took out Bitty's leg. You didn't tell me what you think of calamari Nightwolf."
Beamer knows what andrenaline can do to people. His real goal in keeping Nightwolf talking is to keep her focused. He has seen too many good pilots become pushers in situations like this.
"So you are thinking that you want to pay for your own plate huh? I figured that I could take a friend to eat after we were done with this thing. Oh also stop hitting on me, I am sure my girlfriends won't like it."
He does hope to keep her on her toes. This beast is not too bad, but he did not expect it to send babies from its skin to chase after us.

Nightwolf: "Never had calamari. Never had sushi either. Taking a friend to dinner isn't necessarily the same as taking someone on a date. I never hit on you. You hit on me. If I hit you, it won’t be because I like you. It’s more likely to get you some stitches or a bed in the hospital."
"I don't care if your other girlfriends get jealous. I’m surprise they haven’t already if you really have as many as you say you do. Isn’t one enough for you? Of course I've yet to see or meet any of them. Maybe they don’t exist. Perhaps you don’t know this, but you're not nearly as charming as you think you are. Even if you were, that doesn't mean I'm going to let you that close. I don't know you that well, for starters."
"Just keep your mind on fighting leviathan. I doubt that was the last surprise it has for us. I want to see it bleed, burn, or explode or a combination of the above."
GM: Despite the size of the fish, Nightwolf isn't having much of an adrenaline rush. It's only a giant mutant fish. The worst it can do is kill or maim her. She'd been in worse place. What is a little pain or yet another near death situation after all she'd been through to date?
Besides, fighting was one of the few things she was good at. If she couldn't do this, what else had she left? In all honesty Nightwolf was a lot closer to being depressed than loosing her focus on fighting the fish due to adrenaline. She just wished this overly bubbly military man would stop trying to distract her with all this ridiculous chatter. It was one thing to coordinate an attack another to idly speak when your mind needs to be else where.
She designed to not let his talking distract her and completely ignore him if she needed to. The strangeness of this robot shell was enough. She still didn't completely trust it like she did her own body despite how it responded to her very thoughts.

Beamer chuckles for a moment, "As long as you admit we are friends, then we both win Nightwolf." He attempts to dodge another near hit from one of those budded things. "So what other fun suprises does this have in store for us."
Beamer almost seemed smug in his last comment. As if he had won, and why shouldn't he be glad. He fully assumed that he was slowly opening Nightwold to the idea that friends could be made, "Keep killing this thing and am I sure we will have time for you to tell me how wrong I am later."

As the cluster of pods jet by they explode, showering both of your mechs with shell-like fragments. The resulting cloud of high velocity debris pummel your machines, shredding joints, sensors, and other exposed systems. Those that impact armored surfaces shatter, releasing the same gooey corrosive Beamer experienced earlier. The acids eat away at your armor, exposing better protected systems to the next attack.
Beamer's aggressive defense ruptures three of the pods prematurely, but the attacks of the remaining nine play havoc with your systems. Alarms sound one after another as the CPU reports failed, failing and damaged systems.
Bitty's maneuverability is down forty percent and her weapons systems are all but disabled. Her sonar is sporadic, and her armor is at seventy percent and still degrading.
Unfortunately, Nightwolf has it worse. Her mech took the brunt of the assault and is all but disabled. Worse, a stinging sensation on Nightwolf's right leg threatens to bring her out of trance, and her wet shoes verify what her CPU is telling her: She's taking on water. The modified thrusters fight in vain to maintain her position.
Though he doesn't have access to Nightwolf's damage reports, he can see that she is slowly sinking to the bottom of the Caribbean.

"Nightwolf, I am hurt and need you to get to the surface with me." He looks for air bubbles that may be coming from her mech. If he finds them he will gladly fire a heated shot or use any heating element (aka the saber if needed on low power) he can improvise to fuse the metal closed. "I really need you to get me up there to be sure I reamain consious. We will come back for this. I promise, just help me stay alive."
Beamer scans for that underground city as it may be a faster retreat.
"Place all of your efforts in getting us to the surface. I am going to notifiy Hunter Rodriguez of our findings."
Beamer scans the channels until he can contact Rodriguez. "Spaniard, I have some news. I am not sure that this is entirely organic, but I am not familiar with earth's aquasphere, nor the biology that resideds here. This thing released pods that chased us, leaving only what I can think would be a corrosive acid on our mechs. It as released explosive pods. I will relay more information when I return, but I must dock and make repairs. If you obtain any information on this squid, would you please let me know. I am now in the mood for some calamari. We did wound it considribly and my saber had a difficult time penetrating the beak. This only futher leads me to believe that it is not organic, but a ship of some form. If we can get some sort of tracking on it, I will return once the repairs and upgrades are made."
Beamer is disgusted with himself. He brought an unseasoned pilot into a very bad situation. His thoughts were on her remaining asleep and getting them to safety. "Big ****ed hero kept going through his head."
'Beamer if you lost our right leg and delayed the explosive units on it, you could in theory give a blast in the size of two megatons in that rift. If the creature moves away, likely it is a ship with a well seasoned crew that would know about mech units and final retreats. But if it possibly consumes the leg we could see it blow it's entrails all across Davy's locker. I have already taken the liberty to prep the leg captain. All you need to do is check my work and send it off.'
Beamer looks at over the proposition "Sometimes I wonder about that AI I allowed my mother to install in you Bitty. Though I am grateful for it. You know if only you were a woman, I would take you as my wife hun."
'Captain Andrew's were you hitting on me? I must insist that you replair my legs before we can have a proper date.'
"Yep, sometimes too real Bitty. Though I do love ya, everything looks fine."
Beamer opens the come to Nightwolf again, "Nightwolf. I am going to drop on last bomb on this girl. My right leg will explode in one minute after I release it. Disengage your legs and that will give us less drag as well head up." He explains how she can do this as quickly as she can learn. Once she is able to drop her legs off he will realease Bitty's and have Nightwolf get them out. He knows from past experience that this should keep her focused on getting them both out of danger and in the trance.
