A broad grin split's Brown's face. "Talk is so boooring," he says and rushes Nightwolf again.
Brown covers the distance between them in a fraction of a second and strikes with incredible speed [Melee 7], but Nightwolf is even faster [Melee 10]. She deflects Brown's attack with ease and her counter-stroke [Melee 7 vs. Melee 3] bites deeply into Brown's abdomen.
Brown's momentum carries him clear of Nightwolf's immediate reach, and he even manages to turn to face her before the pain and loss of blood pull him to one knee.
"You're good," he says, "Looks like I'll have to cheat."
With his free hand, Brown pulls a small grey sphere from his coat pocket and flicks a switch. The device whines briefly before its pitch rises above human audio range.

OOC: With Nightwolf's Acute Hearing making her hearing better than normal can she still hear the device or has it gone even beyond that?
IC: Nightwolf thinks to herself, "Of course, he'd have to cheat wouldn't he?"
As Brown pulls out the device Nightwolf prepares to duck behind cover the moment that seems prudent. She also pulls out her gun at the same time. She keeps an eye on Brown's every movement in case it might tell her more of what the device's actual purpose is and what it might do, and also to detect what Brown's next possible move might be.
So currently, Nightwolf has a knife in one hand and a gun in the other. She is ready to duck behind cover in case the device is grenade-like or bomb-like or for any other reason she might desire to have something between herself and Mr. Brown. She is also ready to pull the trigger and shoot Mr. Brown at a moments notice and simultaneously as she's ducking behind something if need be.
Nightwolf: "What is that?"
Nightwolf makes a mental note throughout this whole thing that if she should survive this encounter that she'll have to search out the only person she knows that might help her and might know more of what is going on, Beamer. Though she isn't fond of the necessity of it. However, first she must survive this encounter.

OOC: I'm spending one of your genre points on Get a Clue. A sense of ominous dread falls over Nightwolf as the demons of her subconscious play with worst-case scenarios. Despite this tempest of psychological dread, a single piece of Nightwolf's consciousness manifests itself in a thread of childish curiosity: What was in Tower's box? For his part, Brown mutters, "For a free Earth," before collapsing onto the bloody carpet. The device (which is clearly growing hot) rolls out of his limp hand, searing a shallow trough in the synthetic fibers of the carpet.

Nightwolf quickly puts her weapons away. She thrusts her daemons to the back of her mind so she can hurriedly grab the package Tower gave her to diliver and leave the room shutting the door behind her. She briskly leaves the building. Not too fast that she'd draw attention to herself, but fast enough to take her out of there before anyone realizes what is going on. She will not stop for anyone.
Once out of the building Nightwolf will look for a nearby deserted alley to investigate Tower's package privately. She knew she should have looked at it before delivering it, but had been uncertain if she would have been able to hide the fact that she'd done so.
She also logs away in the back of her mind Brown's last words. Now she was sure more then ever that the disease infecting the planet was a conspiracy of some sort. However, it looks like it is separate from the conspiracy to keep her on this planet long enough that those that hunted her capture her.
After investigating the package's continence she'll go to confront Tower. Nightwolf wants answers now, and he's the only living person she knows that can give them to her, unless of course that military boy is involved. After all it was his advice and "help" the inevitably lead her to Tower. Nightwolf on her way to Tower's makes a note to find him next.
He could still be a part of the plot to recapture her. He was too helpful and nice. He also popped up unexpectedly and then shortly after there was that attack at Tower's establishment. Now there was this. No it was too coincidental. He seemed helpful enough... Sure he seemed genuine, but there in is the catch. That's how they lure you into the trap, and then you’re stuck and they have you. I won't let him do that to me. He may have lied about being a hunter. By appearing to help me he could have just been luring me into a false confidence and made it much easier for him to track me down at his leisure, but still catch me before anyone else did. These are just some of her thoughts she has.
OOC: If there is any doubt the military boy is Beamer. She’s back to distrusting him again if there was anyone wondering about that part.

As it turns out, shutting the door saves Nightwolf's life. Brown's door was constructed of an unusually heavy material. Its original purpose was probably to help thwart attempts at electronic surveillance, but it performs admirably as an impromptu blast shield. The micro-bomb's concussive force blows the door off it's hinges, smashing it against the wall with poor Nightwolf in between. She soon awakens to an angry ringing in her ears and the hot pain of first and second degree flash-burns.
Nightwolf has little difficulty leaving the building without drawing too much attention to herself, as it seems to have been evacuated some time earlier. Once outside, it isn't difficult for her to find a suitable hiding place.
Tower's package is a little scorched but the seals are intact. There is little in the way of order to the contents, which consist mostly of solid-state data storage devices. however, there are a number of 2-D surveillance photographs. Featuring Brown and the receptionist among others; and crates filled with what appear to be some sort of large-scale aerosol canisters.
The streets of Dallas seem to be devoid of life, except for the occasional band of looters and a military patrol. In each case, the group is preoccupied enough that Nightwolf easily avoids a confrontation on her way to Tower's.
Nightwolf arrives to find the building deserted except for the occasional body. The building bears other marks of sporadic fighting such as bullet riddled wall panels, spent casings and the occasional splintered door.
The door to Tower's office has also been smashed in. The room was ransacked, but whoever participated was clearly in a hurry, but they left Tower himself where they found him.

Nightwolf covers her hands with any suitable material she can find so as not to leave finger prints or otherwise further disturb the scene. Nightwolf check to see if Tower is alive searching for a pulse or breathing. She suspect that he is dead though.
If she can find a pulse or breathing but not both, then Nightwolf will try to performs basic first aid on Tower so he might regain the pulse or breathing whichever it is that he might be missing.
If she doesn't find either. Then Nightwolf will assume for the most part that Tower is dead and staying here any longer is a bad idea. She needs looks around Towers place to see if whoever ransacked it might have missed something or left a clue of some kind.
After this whether she finds anything or not, Nightwolf will search the building for something to help treat her burns if only temporarily or to just bandage them. She tries to ignore the pain. If what she saw from Tower's package was any indication, she was in the middle of something very bad and had to stay on the move. She'd already stayed in Tower's building far too long.
Once she is done treating her wounds as best as she is able with what she can find. She will get food and drink from Tower's kitchen if there is any. She'll take as much as she can carry along with Tower's package which she'll conceal on her body with the food and drink. They are her supplies until she can get to the only other place she can think to go. That would be Beamer's place that he told her about. She'll head out of town in that direction next, but only after she can scavenge enough supplies.

Nightwolf doesn't get as far as checking Tower's pulse before noticing the ruined side of his skull.
As she turns her attention to the room she sees that whoever was here before conducted something more akin to a rampage than an actual search. Books and papers cover the floor in a haphazard fashion, giving her the impression that they were simply tossed aside rather than actually read.
Nightwolf begins her own search at Tower's desk, underneath which she finds a device similar to the one Brown used earlier. This time, however, she sees a small glowing display that is counting down from 4:16. Regardless of how long she dares to continue her search, she finds nothing of interest. It would seem that everything Tower had on the conspiracy was inside the box he gave Nightwolf.
The search for supplies takes Nightwolf to the kitchen where there is a large first-aid kit mounted on a wall in the pantry. Luckily, despite the apparent chaos the whole city is suffering, the kit is more or less fully stocked. Nightwolf finds both bandages and burn-cream as well as medical tape, antiseptics, blood clotting agents and a wide selection of over-the-counter medications. The pantry itself has clearly been raided before, still, there is more than enough for Nightwolf's needs.
That just leaves transportation. Walking to Hidalgo across the vast deserts of an alien world is out of the question, and the streets could still be filled with looters and the military seems to be rounding up the civilian population of Dallas.
There is parking garage behind Tower's, or Nightwolf could try finding something suitable on the street.
(OOC: the exits are EAST and NORTH.)

Nightwolf will leave the explosive alone when she finds it. She doesn't know or trust herself enough to try to disarm it.
The most she will do is yell outside to anyone and everyone out there that there is a bomb in the building. Hopefully, the word will spread to the military so that they can take proper care of it.
Nightwolf will take all of the first aid kit with her along with the other supplies. You never know when you might need something like that. Then she will go out the garage behind Tower's place and see if there aren't any cars left there that she might be able to use.
She'll search for a spare key or something that will start any car or car-like transportation device she finds. Failing that, she'll attempt to hotwire anything she finds that might give her the transportation she requires.
If she fails in both of those then she'll look for something on the street that still looks like it might work and she might "commandeer".
After that she'll head towards Beamer's place starting out east and then changing later to whatever direction she needs to in order to get to Beamer’s place that he gave her directions to so long ago now, but she can remember perfectly due to her photographic memory of the time he gave them to her.
