I don't know how many of you have heard of a video game called Morrowind, but it's pretty much my favorite game. I can always come back to it no matter how many times I've beaten it or done the quests and such.
Soon, it's sequel will come out. It's called Oblivion. I just put a down payment on a pre-order for it. It's tentatively coming out in March at the moment. If you've seen the screen shots for this game, I'm sure you'll agree with me that there isn't much more you can do besides drool at them.
My brother and I are going to put our funds together to get it when it comes out at about 50 buck. Which will be the most expensive game I've ever even so much shared in buying.
Has anyone else played Morrowind? Am I the sole fan of this game in this forum? Does anyone else share my longing for the sequel?

I don't play many games at all, and I don't think I've ever seen that one. I do go crazy over Wild Arms games and the .hack//INFECTION series. Other than that, the only games I've played through to the end are the Zelda ones and a couple Final Fantasy.
I actually only have one real game installed on my computer, and I've never played it. I don't play most computer games because they steal all my online time. PS2 games I have to actually go to some effort to set up, so I can ignore them if I need to and get other things done. Now if only I could cure my addiction to Gaia Online...

Well, Morrowind also runs on the Xbox as well as the PC. I don't have an Xbox so I play it on my PC. Oblivion, the sequel, is coming out on the Xbox 360 (I think it's the 360), as well as the PC.

I'll bet Andrek would enjoy Morrowind. As I recall, he was a big fan of Daggerfall in High School. I believe that was an Elder Scrolls game (correct me if I'm wrong).
Andrek and Shaun have both been pitching Planeshift to me, and I don't think they know each other (well, maybe, after all Andrek seems to know EVERYBODY).

I haven't heard about any game called Planeshift. Morrowind is the sequeal to Daggerfall, and yes, it is a Elder Scrolls game. Oblivion, which is the new Elder Scrolls game that is coming out, is Elder Scrolls IV. I never did play Daggerfall or Area which I think was the other one. I've only played Morrowind. Morrowind is one of my favorite games, and is a game I can always go back to. I love that game. I'm excitedly looking forward to it's sequeal.
I just hope that it will run on my brothers computer. I know it won't run on mine.

Personally, I have three major problems with Morrowind
1) Those lousy, omnipresent Cliff Racers
2) The Ash Plain (which is the bulk of the game's landmass) is sooooo dreadfully boring, it is actually painful to look at.
3) None of the merchants had anything even approaching enough gold to justify gathering any booty from fallen monsters.

You never had or played the expansions. Many things were fixed with those, plus some added nice stuff. Well, of the three things you mentioned, the expansions fixed number three. If you didn't have the expansion. Then there were two Easter egg merchants that had a lot of cash to make it worth selling your loot off the fallen guys. That's Creeper the Scamp and a Talking Mud Crab somewhere. As for the ash plain, you don't see as much of it if you use fast travel. Yes, there aren't many cities out that way so you'd think you'd have to walk everywhere beret of fast travel. Not so, if you have all the Popylon Indexes or have done the plug in Quest for the master Popylon index. Then you can use those for fast travel with certain Dunmer ruin fortresses. As for those Cliff Racers all I can say is by popular and majority vote, as far as I can find, they are the overall most annoying creatures in all of Morrowind. Next to them would be the slaughter fish. The slaughter fish will continues their life in Oblivion, sadily enough. However, with the Bloodmoon expansion comes werewolfism. Werewolfism gives you some nice stats when you are transformed, not by everyone's opinion though... Anyway, when you are a werewolf you can basically out run/jump and there by loose anything that chases you including those annoying cliff racers . That seems to be one good thing that everyone whose tried werewolfism in Morrowind agrees on. It seems half and half otherwise if people like or want werewolfism in Morrowind or Elder Scrolls in General for that matter. It's still being debated apparently in most of the forums I've seen. Yes, I have both expansions. I also like werewolfism. Though it's not so great starting out until you've done the second quest down the werewolf line which gives you sharper claws.

Yeah, Creeper was my buddy. I never did find that crab, but by all accounts he wasn't rich enough either. Not when you're slaughtering Daedra by the dozens and stealing their Dai-Katanas and Greatswords (and all before level 35).
However, I might get around to playing Oblivion one day. If I do though, I won't listen to the advice of my dear friend Jay. If you were to look up "munchkin" in the dictionary, it would have his picture.
Oh, by the way, I tried to try Planeshift, but the updater program froze my laptop in its tracks. I have a new laptop now. (It's only fair to add that there is no evidence that Planeshift had anything to do with the slow and painful death of my old iBook).

Did you not try out the expansions? So of the clerks that are added in the expansions can deal fairly well with the stuff you're pilfering off the bodies of the Daedra.
As for your iBook...

Who's the wealthiest merchant you met and how much gold did he have? If it's anything less than, say, 100,000 gold you'll have proven my point (those daedric daikatanas are worth some serious CASH by themselves, nevermind when you are loaded down with them so that you can barely move).
