I have seen Stargate-SG1. Infact my younger brother, the oldest of my two younger brothers, owns all eight seasons on DVD that they have out. He also has the first season of Stargate Atlantis. The Replicators when they died or were destroyed didn't bother me. They fell apart into large blocks, unless they were the humanoid type. That was closer to bothering me. However, the way Stargeate explained it, each block was an individual Replicator not the whole thing it was a part of at the time. I guess I didn't feel like it was disintegrating even when the humaniod ones fell apart. To me it was just a pile of Replicators not the remains of one.
That doesn't work with people. I guess that's why the Tom Cruise remake and X3 disintegrations bothered me so much more. I'm not the only one it bothered. I've seen the older version of War of the Worlds. I don't remember seeing individual people disintegrated in it. Though, it has been a while since I've seen it. It never game me nightmares. I liked the old one, and I hate the remake. I'm glad
That's interesting news Lironah. I am a Star Trek fan and I like Patrick Stewart as an actor as well, not just in Star Trek. He was in my favorite version of Dune, and he plays Xavair. I totally could empathized with Magneto's regret for loosing him. Of all the human and mutants, Charles was the one live besides Magneto's own that he was likely to not disregard. They did used be friends. They seemed to carry a little bit of that even still even though they were on opposing sides now.
I didn't know the guy who played Scott was going to be in the new Superman, I guess that makes sense, but that doesn't mean they have to kill him off. They could have found a way around that. As for Nightcrawler that makes more sense know. I liked Alan Cumming in the things I've seen him in so far. He is a very good actor. I was hoping he'd be in this film and then I discovered he wasn't. What you've said makes sense though as to why he wouldn't take the job. From what I've read it sounded like he hated all that make up. It had some really good results though. Alan also played in Spy Kinds as Floop, and the sequel to The Mask, as Loki. Even if the rest of those films needed help he was good. Yes, for those of you that didn't realize it or didn't know or just can't belive Floop is Nightcrawler. I'm sorry if that creeps you out or give you nightmares tonight.
As for a new Star Trek, I thought that was only a rumor? They sort of killed of Data the last time, but that was okay. They did it in a very good way, unlike X3. I may never get over that. Data's death was a good death, and yes it made me cry. It was awesome though. I left the theater feeling good even though the original Data was blow up. Not the same feeling for X3 why ever they did that. The deaths could have been better all I'm saying.
Oh, I'm strange when I watch movies. I'm an emotional person and so I have at times cried for the villain in an action movie before. Maybe not ever time I saw it, but at least the first time. If that isn't wired enough for you, the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory gave me nightmares. I still hate the film. I have not seen the new one, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory because of it. I watched War of the Worlds, any version, and some other films that did not give me nightmares. For instance I saw the Ring. Another movie in which I HATE, and will not listen to movie or tv show suggestion again from the person who recommended it to me. We rented it, and I watched it with my sister and my mother. None us liked it. We even shoed my youngest brother out of the room when he came in because it was so vile. It was one of those movies that is just so awful you're just hoping that in the end something happens to counter act the evil. Yet, it did not give me nightmares. The Ring was far more satanic, disturbing and evil and just overly more horrific then was Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. It's bizzare, no? The Ring is a movie on my list of Things that Must Burn. Have I mentioned this list before to you guys? I'm not sure I have.
I'm okay with Chick Flick movies. I should bring tissues or something. I never seem to have tissues when I need them. I'm really looking forward to the Lake House. It sounds like it won't be your usual Chick Flick. I mean a love with a man whose two years apart from the one you're living in... It sounds cool to me. Lironah, if you're not into Chick Flicks, will you be seeing Date Movie? It's like Scary Movie making fun of the scary movies. Only in this case it's the romantic or chick flicks. I'm not sure what it's rated.
